I-beam, also called steel beam, is a long strip of steel with an I-shaped cross-section. I-beams are divided into ordinary I-beams and light I-beams. The types of I-beams with an I-shaped cross-section include hot-rolled ordinary I-beams, light-weight I-beams and wide parallel-legged I-beams (H-beams).
